JSW Energy to invest Rs1800cr for K'taka plant

Sajjan Jindal group firm JSW Energy plans to invest Rs 1800 crore for a 600-MW power plant in Karnataka, according to company sources.

The company is close to tying up funding for the project with the debt component comprising Rs 1350 crore and the equity component comprising Rs 450 crore, a senior official of sister concern  JSW Steel said today.

JSW Steel plans to invest Rs 125 crore in this project via equity.

The Karnataka power project was part of JSW Energy's plans to invest about Rs 11500 crore in power plants in three Indian states over three years, the official said.
