JSW Steel slab output up 28% in Q3FY07

JSW Steel today reported a 28% increase in slab production to 7,30,274 metric tonne during the quarter ended December 31, 2006 from the year-ago period.

According to an official release issued today, HR coil production was up 20% at 6,42,724 metric tonne as against 5,33,548 metric tonne in Q3FY06.

"The production of pellets (9,55,000 metric tonne) and galvanised products (2,00,983 metric tonne) in Q3FF07 were marginally lower due to the shutdown of the pellet plant for capacity enhancement and change in the product mix of galvanized products," the release added.
