JSW Steel today hiked the price of galvanized steel by Rs 1,000/ tonne citing increase in prices of raw materials. According to the release issued by JSW to the BSE, the price of HR coils, however, has not been changed. "The price hike for galvanized steel has been necessitated by the steep increase in zinc prices of $800-$900 in the international markets in the last thirty-five days," Seshagiri Rao, director (finance), said. In the meanwhile, Uttam Galva increased the prices of all its galvanised steel products in the domestic market by Rs 2,000 per tonne.
