Jubilant profit soars 40%

Pharmaceutical company Jubilant Organosys posted a net profit of Rs 89.4 crore for the third quarter of 2007-08, 40 per cent higher than the Rs 63.7 crore posted in the corresponding previous quarter period. Net sales grew 37 per cent during the period to Rs 641.6 crore, compared with Rs 469.3 crore posted in the corresponding previous year quarter.
 
"The growth was possible through spectacular growth in customer research and manufacturing services (CRAMS) and we see more such growth accruing to our business going forward based on improved capacities, new launches and long term contracts," said Hari S Bhartia, co-chairman and MD,Jubilant Organosys.
 
In the third quarter of FY08, CRAMS sales of the company grew by 97.8 per cent to Rs 342.8 crore compared with third quarter of FY07. The EPS for third quarter FY08 was up by 39.6 per cent to Rs. 5.01.
 
The international revenues also rose by 63.8 per cent at Rs 346.2 crore.
 
Jubilant's consolidated nine months sales were higher by 33.7 per cent to Rs 1799.9 crore compared with the corresponding results in the previous year. Net profit also grew by 108.5 per cent to Rs 342.3 crore.
