K'taka hails Tata Motors' Dharwad car unit plan |

The Karnataka government has offered all assistance to Tata Motors for its plans of setting up a car-manufacturing unit in the Belur industrial area, Dharwad at an investment of Rs 976 crore. Karnataka deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa announced this after discussing the proposal with senior company officials. Tata Motors has already acquired 600 acres of land and has sought some concessions from the government. The company has sought VAT concessions for its product or permission to repay the amount in 18 years. In addition to this, it has sought 200 acres of additional land and exemption from entry tax. The government will respond positively to the demands of Tata Motors and will provide the concessions that have been given to Germany |
