The Kadvani group, a Rajkot-based forging company, is foraying into manufacturing of porcelain tiles. The company, which is setting up its unit in Morbi, plans to invest Rs 200 crore in the business over the next five years. |
"The group had recently acquired Morbi-based Orneto Ceramics Ltd. The company did some value-addition to the unit by installing high-capacity Italian machinery," said group chairman and managing director Kishorbhai Kadvani. |
The company expects a turnover of Rs 60 crore during the next one year from the present Rs 20 crore. "Domestic market is our first priority, we are focusing on Kerala and Maharashtra markets. We would also export our products to Africa in the next one month," he told mediapersons. |
According to him, the country's infrastructure sector is growing very fast. "We are very hopeful and that's why are planing to invest Rs 200 in the next five years," he said. |
The company uses seven types of clay and three types of power form, which come from Kutch and Rajasthan. "Now, we offer 300 design," says Kishan Kaneria, technical director. |
The unit has a production capacity of 10,000 sq mtr per day.
