Kalyan Jewellers signs Amitabh Bachchan as brand ambassador

The company, which has 35 stores spread over southern states, is planning to expand its footprint in Maharashtra, Gujarat

Kerala-based Kalyan Jewellers today said it is planning to open 65 new stores by the end of this fiscal and has signed Amitabh Bachchan as its brand ambassador.

The company which already has 35 stores spread over four southern states is planning to expand its footprint in Maharashtra and Gujarat, it said in a release issued here.

The company is planning to invest about Rs 2-3 crore for each of the new stores.

"We want to play aggressively in the consumer space and become the most preferred jewellery retail company in the country," Kalyan Jewellers Managing Director T S Kalyanaraman said.

The company also said it has signed Amitabh Bachchan as brand ambassador for its jewellery retail chain.
