Kalyani Forge, a Kalyani Group company and manufacturer of precision forged and machined components, aims to increase its revenue from exports and plans to increase revenue contribution from the present 25 per cent to 40 per cent.
The company is increasing its presence in the international markets by exploring strategic initiatives to meet globally accepted norms and processes.
The company in a release said it is concentrating on process improvements and removal of non-value adding activities through Lean Management Systems as a strategy to get close to its customer.

Over the next three to five years, Kalyani Forge will deploy a capital expenditure of Rs 200 crore for modernization and value addition of their manufacturing facilities in Pune based on lean principles; continuous evolution of modern systems and cutting-edge processes while enhancing productivity.
As a part of this exercise, the company has initiated a transformation in business process management with an emphasis on High Tonnage Press Lines (6000T) and cold forging expertise. High Tonnage Press Line is a measure of the force with which components are shaped as larger components require higher tonnage presses.
“We will move closer to our global customers with an international presence in the coming quarters as we felt that many of our global customers especially some top performers expressed their wishes to enlarge their engagement with us,” said Viraj Kalyani, Executive Director, Kalyani Forge.
Kalyani said that the current calendar year has been a good year for new business development pipeline with establishment of new relationships since a growing number of customers have selected Kalyani Forge products for their export requirements. Currently the company’s exports account for 25 per cent of revenues which may scale up to 40 per cent going forward.
The company said its export order book stood in the range of around Rs 50 crore and is having a new business pipeline from customers in the USA, Canada, UK, Japan and remaining part of Europe such as Belgium.
The customer base includes global leaders in automotive and non automotive segments. With its in-house die designing facility, Kalyani Forge manufactures Dies and Tooling that helps in producing customized complex, critical profile forgings of high accuracy. The company also achieved thermal refining process of its products by employing the Continuous Heat Treatment lines.
