Hyderabad-based Kamineni Hospitals group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Detroit International Research and Education Foundation (Diref), a US-based corporation for international telemedicine consultation services.
The MoU aims at leveraging the individual strengths of both the entities to bring about a quantum increase in providing diagnostic services and advanced treatment methodologies.
Diref, according to a Kamineni press release, is in advanced stages of testing a prototype of a handheld diagnostic device that will be able to detect and identify specific conditions and pathogens. Also, it is in the process of developing a patient-specific surgical simulator that enables a surgeon to operate on a virtual replica of any given patient’s organs prior to operating on the patient directly.

“We will work with Diref to identify ways and means by which we can revolutionise the process of diagnosis and treatments offered to the patients at our various health care institutions,” managing director of Kamineni group, K Sashidhar, stated.
After setting its foot prints in Hyderabad two decades ago, Kamineni has now started a 350-bedded super specialty hospital at Vijayawada. The group also operates medical and dental colleges.
