Karur Vysya Bank Q1 net profit up 20%

Private sector lender Karur Vysya Bank today reported a growth of 20.09 per cent in its net profit for the quarter ended June 30 at Rs 84.48 crore.

It had a net profit of Rs 70.35 crore during the corresponding quarter last fiscal, Karur Vysya Bank Ltd said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The Tamil Nadu-headquartered bank also reported a 11.67 per cent rise in its total income during the first quarter at Rs 544.27 crore, as against Rs 487.37 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

The bank's revenue from its retail banking operations went up by 5.52 per cent during the first quarter of this fiscal to Rs 221.73 crore, from Rs 210.14 crore in the same period of 2009-10.

 

Revenue of its corporate banking operations soared by 31.28 per cent to Rs 195.89 crore during the quarter ended June 30, as against Rs 149.22 crore, it said.

It's revenue from the treasury operations, however, went down by 1.18 per cent to Rs 125.68 crore in the first quarter from Rs 127.18 crore during the corresponding period of last fiscal, the filing added.
