KE-Burgmann to expand in India

| KE-Burgmann Flexibles India plans to invest close to ¤1 million in India to further expand its Chennai facility and give an aggressive thrust to exports of industrial expansion joints from India, the company said on Wednesday. |
| The company has also opened its second manufacturing facility in India at Raipur in Chhattisgarh. |
| KE-Burgmann will manufacture Flexgen, Combine-X, Hi-Flex and Thermoflex type compensators at the Raipur factory which will cater to the industrial belt in and around Raipur, eastern and central India. |
| Chennai-based KE-Burgmann Flexibles India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of KE-Burgmann of Denmark, a world leader in the manufacture of expansion joints. The company develops, designs and manufactures fabric, metal and rubber expansion joints for solving a vast range of industrial alignment problems. |
| Fabric, metal or rubber expansion joints are installed as flexible connections in duct and piping systems to prevent damage at power plants, chemical and petrochemical plants, cement plants, pulp and paper plants, FGD systems and steel works, among others. |
| Peter L Nielsen, CEO, KE-Burgmann, said that the Indian operations of the company have become a very important factor for its growth and exports. KE-Burgmann Flexibles India has received new orders worth Rs 6 crore from BHEL, and expects to close fiscal 2008 with revenues of more than Rs 16.5 crore. |
| The company has been manufacturing fabric compensators and non-metallic expansion joints in Chennai since March 2001. Clientele in India include ABB, NTPC, Siemens, Reliance, Maersk, Shell, Qatar Petroleum, FL Smidth Group, Alstom, BPCL, India Cements and L&T. |
