KEC bags Rs339cr orders from Afghanistan, Ethiopia

KEC International (KEC) has bagged orders totalling Rs 339 crore from Afghanistan and Ethiopia.

"In Afghanistan, KEC has bagged two orders of Rs 204 crore for supply and construction of 220 kv double circuit lines. It would pass from Kabul to the Salang tunnel over a distance of 95 km, and from Salang to Phul-e-khumri over a distance of 107 km," an official release said today.

The project has been awarded by Power Grid Corporation of India, and would be executed over the next three years, the release added.

KEC has bagged a Rs 135 crore order from Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation for supply and construction of 400 kv single circuit and 230 kv double circuit transmission lines. The lines will be spread over 234 kms under the Gilgel Gibe II hydro power plant, the release said.
