KEC in black, first quarter net at Rs 10.12 cr

KEC International has posted a net profit of Rs 10.12 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2004 against a loss of Rs 2.57 crore in the same quarter of previous year. Net sales rose 94 per cent to Rs 243.85 crore (Rs 127.56 crore).
 
Ramesh Chandak, managing director, KEC said: "KEC completed its turnaround last year and has been growing continuously from there. We have a large order book today and are growing in both international as well as domestic markets. KEC will continue to grow by developing new markets, focusing on value-chain expansion and improving operational efficiencies."
 
At present, the company has order book position of Rs 2,300 crore and is engaged in executing orders in various countries including UAE, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan, a KEC release added.
