KEC in the black, net at Rs 7.27 crore

KEC International has recorded a net profit of Rs 7.27 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2003 against a net loss of Rs 10.68 crore in the same period last fiscal.
 
Sales turnover rose to Rs 230.76 crore (Rs 209.69 crore). Managing director Ramesh Chandak said: "the performance has improved with the execution of the Iraq order and various cost control measures adopted by the company".
 
The net profit and sales turnover for nine-month period ended December 31, 2003 stood at Rs 11.97 crore (net loss of Rs 16.99 crore in April-December 2002) and Rs 531.81 crore compared to Rs 518.32 crore last year, it said.
