KEF Holdings to expand Project Prism in Kerala

The project aims to transform quality of education being imparted across government schools in the state

UAE-based KEF Holdings, through its Faizal and Shabana Foundation, has decided to expand the Prism (Promoting Regional Schools to International Standards through Multiple Interventions) model after it successfully implemented a pilot at the government vocational higher secondary school in Kozhikode district.

The project aims to transform quality of education being imparted across government schools in the state.

The foundation has invested Rs 14 crore in Phase-I of pilot scheme at the Nadakkavu government school. The project facilitates education for 2,300 girl students helping them enter professional careers.

Addressing a press conference here today, Faizal Kottikollon and Shabana Faizal, directors of KEF, said in the first phase they had put up basic infrastructure, training facilities and a multipurpose atrium.In Phase II, it plans to bring about a holistic face-lift of the school by employing advanced learning tools and technology aids.
 

The department of General Education is expected to sign an MoU in July with the foundation to work on the upgradation and expansion of Nadakkavu project.
