Kempinski to open 2 hotels, add around 600 rooms by end of 2015

The hotel had opened its first independently managed 480 roomes, suites in New Delhi last year

Europe's oldest luxury hotel chain, Kempinski plans to operate two new hotels in India by end of 2015 as part of its expansion in the country.
    
The hospitality chain had opened its first independently managed 480 rooms and suites hotel -Kempinski Ambience Hotel- in the country in Delhi last year.
    
"We plan to manage two more hotels in the country by end of 2015. This will add to a total of around 600 rooms," Kempinski Ambience Hotel General Manager Vella Ramasawmy told PTI.
    
These hotels will be in Udaipur and Mumbai in all probability.
 
    
"Later on we will looking at other key cities like Hyderabad and Bangalore," he added.
    
On being asked about the investments the company is planning for expansion and the business model it will follow, Ramasawmy said: "As we manage the hotels we don't invest in property. We follow the management agreement model."
    
With the exception of the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski in Munich, which belongs to the group, and two hotels with leasing contracts, Kempinski Hotels undertake management of luxury hotels.
 
Kempinski, currently has a tie up with the Leela Group.

The company is actively targeting  Asia and Africa for its expansion initiatives and in Asia, India and China are very important, he added.

Kempinski Hotels now comprises a portfolio of over 70 five star hotels in 31 countries with 25 hotels under various stages of development.
