Kolkata-based Kenilworth hotel is planning an investment of around Rs 50 crore over the next two to three years for renovating its existing hotels in Kolkata and Goa, apart for building another hotel either in Bhuwaneshwar or Hyderabad. |
This year, the hospitality group is eying a turnover of Rs 55 crore, against Rs 36 crore last year. |
Under the expansion plans for the Kolkata hotel, the Big Ben building in the hotel premises would be upgraded to a 35-room facility and a swimming pool with an investment of Rs 30 crore, said R S Singh, vice president-operations, The Kenilworth. |
The up gradation of the Goa hotel would require an investment of Rs 5 crore, for adding about 25 more villas in the hotel. |
The existing capacity of the Kolkata hotel is 105 rooms. |
Kenilworth was actively scouting for a property in either Hyderabad or Bhuwaneshwar, for a three star hotel in the cities, said Singh. |
"We are desperately looking for a property in Bhuwaneshwar and Hyderabad. Property prices at present are very high, so we are negotiating with prices in the cities," he said. |
