The Mehsana-based Keshav Holiday Resort Pvt Ltd (KHRPL), which runs India's largest water park and resort at Amipura in Mehsana district, is making a foray into healthcare.

The company will inaugurate the Shanku's Natural Health Centre (SNHC), a naturopathy centre, in December or in January.

The centre will have facilities such as water therapy, aromatherapy, acupressure, yoga, meditation and other methods of the Indian system of medicine.

"KHRPL will invest around Rs 5 crore in the new venture. The group has already ventured into entertainment and education. With this foray, people will get a wide range of facilities in Mehsana district," said Raj Batra, vice-president, KHRPL, on Thursday.

The group started Shanku's Water Park in 1993 and the Divine Child School in 1994. "With assets worth over Rs 100 crore, the group aims at a turnover of at least Rs 25 crore by the end of fiscal 2005-06. We have been growing at 15 per cent every year for the past few years," Batra said.

The official said the centre will provide treatments for constipation, dyspepsia, piles, impotency, nerve exhaustion, insomnia, depression, general debility, chronic functional headaches, chronic cold, chronic bronchitis, sciatica, arthritis, obesity and blood pressure.

"We have already availed of the services of best naturopaths and a leading ayurveda practitioner and will continue to expand our team of experts," said Batra.

He said the centre will have a 56-bed facility. "We will import most of the machinery that will be used in the naturopathy centre," the official said.

All the funds raised through the school are invested back into providing better educational facilities, Batra said.

While Shanku's Water Park has an average 2,000 visitors per day, the Shanku's Water World Resort has an average occupancy of about 50 per cent.
