Key Industrial Commodity Prices Going Up

The prices of key industrial commodities like steel, chemicals, synthetic fibre, and paper have risen steadily during the current financial year.

In chemicals, the average price of chlorine has risen 125 per cent to Rs 9,000 per tonne from Rs 4,000 per tonne in April 2002, while the price of caustic soda has gone up 7 per cent to Rs 15,000 per tonne from Rs 14,000 per tonne in April 2002.
