Maruti Suzuki India's Managing Director Jagadish Khattar, who is retiring this month, may soon announce his plans of setting up an automobile servicing network across the country.

This was indicated by Khattar during his interaction with government officials when he visited Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The visit was part of his efforts to get first-hand information on the automobile scenario in various states, including the possible locations and availability of facilities for establishing the service outlets, according to officials.

Khattar met the officials of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), which provides land and infrastructure for industrial units in the state, besides state industries secretary, Sam Bob B. Confirming their meeting, APIIC Chairman and Managing Director BP Acharya said Khattar wanted to have an idea of the overall scenario of the automobile sector in the state.
