Khazana makes Rs 150-crore growth plans

Chennai-based Khazana Jewellery (India) Private Limited, a leading jeweller, has embarked on a major expansion at a cost of over Rs 150 crore. It plans to open 15 new exclusive showrooms across the country in the next couple of years.
 
Speaking to media persons at the inauguration of its first showroom in the city on Monday, Kishore Jain, managing director of Khazana Jewellery, said that at present Khazana has three outlets "� two in Chennai and one in Hyderabad.
 
He put the investment in each outlet at around Rs 10 crore. This year, Khazana plans to open its outlets at Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
 
According to Jain, the 3,000 sqft retail outlet in the city is the fully BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) hallmarked jewellery showroom in the city.
 
The company specialises in retailing the finest range of traditional and contemporary jewellery and accessories of gold, diamonds and platinum, he said.
 
As part of the month-long promotional offer, the-decade-old company has decided to do away with making charges and would charge only the actual price of 22 karat gold.
 
It also offers 'purity guarantee' and purchases back the ornaments at the existing price of 22 karat. The ornaments purchased as part of the inaugural offer also come with a one-year insurance cover against theft, damage etc, Jain said.
 
On completion of the expansion programme, the company plans to launch its brand jewellery in the country.
