Kidnapped Satyam executive rescued

Satyanarayana Vedula, the kidnapped senior executive of Satyam Computer Services, was rescued from the Nekkonda village of Warangal  district in Andhra Pradesh late Tuesday night.

Vedula, who is working as principal consultant in Satyam's  insurance     
vertical, was abducted by four persons in a car when  he went to drop his two daughters to their school in Secunderabad on Tuesday.

The police, who were able trace the kidnappers by tracking their mobile   
calls, has taken the four persons into custody.

This is the second instance of kidnapping in the IT sector. Anant (then 
 3 years old), son of Adobe India managing director Naresh Gupta, was kidnapped by two motorcycle-borne youths in Sector 15, Noida, last November.

Updated on 24/07/07 at 1500 hrs: A senior executive of Hyderabad-based Satyam Computer Services,  Satya Vedula, was kidnapped today. Vedula, who is working as  principal consultant in the insurance vertical, was picked up by unknown persons.

"We have learnt of the kidnapping of our associate, Satya Vedula, from his family today morning. This unfortunate incident happened from the Secunderabad area in Hyderabad. We are monitoring the situation with the police and are concerned about his safety. We pray for his speedy reunion with his family" Satyam stated in a press release.
