Kingfisher Airlines has tied up with IBS, global provider of IT solutions for the travel and logistics industry, to deploy the latter's 'iCargoNet' solution, to manage the airline's cargo business.
ICargoNet provides a unified, enterprise-wide solution to help manage the entire cargo business of the airlines from planning, sales, operations to cargo revenue accounting and revenue optimisation functions in an integrated and cost- effective manner, V K Mathew, Chairperson and CEO of IBS group, told reporters here today.
The solution is expected to improve revenue and operational efficiency by 10 to 20 per cent.
The solution provides airlines with scalability to support their aggressive growth plans and offers them the flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
ICargoNet would help Kingfisher ensure profitability of its cargo business by enabling the airline to optimise the inventory of its flights and monitor capacity utilization as well as the revenue generated by each flight.
With the singning of the deal, Kingfisher Airlines has become the first Indian customer for IBS' cargo solutions and the first user of iCargoNet worldwide.
IBS would host the solution from its data centre and support infrastructure that is managed by a customer support centre and network managed system. The pricing for the airline would be in terms of SAS (Sofware as a Service) model and would vary depending on transaction volume.
