Kingfisher Airlines to take-off on Monday

The UB Group's Kingfisher Airlines would begin commercial operations with its maiden flight from Bangalore to Mumbai on May 9.

Talking to reporters here today, UB group chairman Vijay Mallya said the airlines would have a minimum of 33 aircraft within the next two years.

"We plan to acquire 11 aircraft by December this year and
buy one aircraft every month from January 2006," he said, adding the total project cost of Kingfisher Airlines would be about Rs 8,000 crore.
