Kingfisher Airlines today hiked its airfare by Rs 150-350 with immediate effect, while Jet Airways is expected to do so from April 7. |
"The increase in the fares for long-haul Kingfisher flights will be Rs 350, while for the short-haul the hike in ATF surcharge would be Rs 150," a Kingfisher spokesperson said. |
"This has been necessitated due to the hike in ATF by oil companies," he said. |
A Jet Airways official said the carrier would be increasing its fares from April 7. |
The increase in surcharge would be the same as that of Kingfisher for both long and short-haul flights. |
While other air-carriers have not yet taken a decision to up their fares, it is understood that they too would follow suit in the next few days. |
