The power generation (gensets) business of Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL) has been changed to KOEL Green. According to KOEL, the new brand identity reflects its commitment to serve the market with energy efficient and smart products.
Speaking to mediapersons today, KOEL vice-president and business head Sanjeev M Nimkar said the market prospects for organised gensets manufacturers had improved with the introduction of benchmark European standard pollution norms for genset manufacturers in the country.
"The influx of Chinese-made gensets in the domestic market had fallen to a record level with the adoption of latest industry norms. This is a breathing period for the gensets industry. However, we see Chinese returning the Indian market with the benchmark products in another six months to one year," Nimkar said.
With an improvement in the overall economic condition in the country, he expects the company to clock a 15 per cent growth in turnover this financial year. Last fiscal, it had clocked a turnover of Rs 2,287 crore.
