Kirloskar Oil Engines net rises

 Diesel-engine manufacturer Kirloskar Oil Engines today said its net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009, stood at Rs 49.05 crore.     

The company had a net profit of Rs 36.17 crore in the same quarter ended March, 2008, Kirloskar Oil said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.  

"Figures for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, are not comparable with those of the corresponding period of the previous year in view of sale of Valve Division with effect from August 1, 2008," the company said in a filing.  

The total operating income of the company stood at Rs 503.81 crore during the quarter under review, against Rs 616.61 crore in the previous fiscal.
