Krebs Bio net dips 52%
 
The Hyderabad-based Krebs Biochemicals and Industries Limited's net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2004, fell by 52 per cent to Rs 2.42 crore compared with Rs 5.04 core in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
 
The total third quarter income stood at Rs 20.77 crore compared with Rs 23.31 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
 
Kanoria Chem net up 5%
 
Kanoria Chemicals and Industries reported a 5.31 per cent increase in its net profit to Rs 6.35 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 against Rs 6.03 crore recorded for the same period of the previous year.
 
Sales rose 15.98 per cent to Rs 105.6 crore in the third quarter from the previous year's Rs 91.05 crore, a company release said here. Net profit in the nine months ending december 31, 2004, grew 2.46 per cent to Rs 14.25 crore from the previous year's Rs 14.61 crore.
 
Net profit stood at Rs 19.8 crore in the year 2003-04. Sales in the nine months rose 10.32 per cent to Rs 295.71 crore from the previous year's Rs 268.05 crore. The company's total sales last fiscal were Rs 360.31 crore.
 
Natco Pharma net up 6%
 
The Hyderabad-based Natco Pharma's net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2004, has gone up by 6 per cent to Rs 5.13 crore compared with Rs 4.84 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
 
Total turnover for the quarter increased by 13 per cent to Rs 45.34 crore (Rs 40.05 crore).
 
According to a press release, the figures of both profit before tax (PBT) and profit after tax (PAT) for the third quarter has been the same since the company stated that provision for write-offs, income tax and deferred tax, if any, will be considered as at March 31, 2005.
 
Navabharat net up 57%
 
The Hyderabad-based Navabharat Ferro Alloys' net profit rose 57 per cent to Rs 22.87 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2004 compared with Rs 14.57 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
 
Total income for the third quarter has also gone up considerably to Rs 131.71 crore (Rs 103.25 crore). Profit before tax (PBT) for the third quarter has witnessed more than a 100 per cent jump to Rs 36.37 crore (Rs 17.01 crore).
 
Panacea 9-mth net up 42%
 
Pharmaceutical company Panacea Biotec reported a 42 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 23 crore for the nine months period ended December 2004 against Rs 16 crore for the same period the previous year.
 
The company achieved 47 per cent growth in its net sales at Rs 240 crore during the period as compared to Rs 164 crore in the year ago period, a release by the company said.
 
During the period the company entered into a joint venture with uk based chiron vaccines for manufacture of preventive anti-infectious new generation combination vaccines, it added.
 
Panacea also added two new brands"" 'lower' for intensive cholesterol management and 'takeaway ' injection for short term management of high fever and acute pain, it said.
