KSDL sustained accumulated losses of over Rs 98 crore during the last one decade on account of massive expansion that saw its production capacity increase from 6,000 tonne to 26,000 tonne.
However, it turned the corner and wiped out losses, and is now poised to post a profit of Rs 6 crore on revenues of Rs 160 crore during the just ended 2007-08 financial year.
"We are facing a paucity in supply of sandalwood, which resulted in huge losses. However, to reduce the dependence on sandalwood oil-related products, we are diversifying our product portfolio, which is expected to fetch us a net profit of Rs 10 crore this fiscal," Anil Kumar said here on Friday.
