KVB, Greenply Ind, Finolex Ind & Gujarat Gas Q2 results

KVB net up 35%
 
Karur Vysya Bank's (KVB) net profit for the second quarter of 2005-06 stood at Rs 27.50 crore, higher by 34.5 per cent in relation to the previous year's net profit of Rs 20.44 crore.
 
Total interest income stood at Rs 161.92 crore (Rs 146.56 crore last year), higher by 10.48 per cent. KVB's net profit for the first half of 2005-06 was Rs 65.12 crore (Rs 54.54 crore), up by 19.40 per cent.
 
Total interest income for the period was Rs 314.93 crore (Rs 298.75 crore), up by 5.41 per cent. Net NPAs for the quarter ended September 2005 stood at 1.36 per cent (2.16 per cent).
 
Greenply Ind net up by Rs 3.01 cr
 
Greenply Industries, India's largest manufacturer of plywood and laminates, has reported a net profit of Rs 3.01 crore for the quarter ended September 30 this year, up from Rs 1.37 crore recorded in the second quarter of last year. Revenues for the rose to Rs 62.50 crore from Rs 47.70 crore.
 
Finolex Ind net dips 66%
 
Finolex Industries has posted a net profit of Rs 9.57 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, down 66.27 per cent as compared with Rs 28.38 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2004. Total income (net of excise) fell from Rs 197.51 crore in Q2-05 to Rs 183.40 crore.
 
Gujarat Gas net up 23%
 
Gujarat Gas Company recorded profit after tax of Rs 24 crore for the qaurter ended September 2005, as compared with Rs 19.47 crore for the corresponding period in previous year, up by 23.31 per cent.
 
The company said the consolidated income from opeations increased to Rs 196.81 crore from Rs 164.89 crore while the profit before interest, depreciation and tax has increased by 16.49 per cent from Rs 36.29 crores to Rs 42.27 crores during its third quarter of the current year.
