Kyndal India, the fully owned Indian subsidiary of UK-based Whyte & Mackay said it plans to export Indian wine to the global market. |
The company also has lined up a premuim vodka brand Level for launch early next years, officials said here. |
"We are holding talks with Indian wine-makers for distribution through our marketing network both in the domestic and international market by next month," said Siddhartha Banerji, Managing Director, Kyndal India. |
"Initially, we will launch a few Indian wine brands next month in the domestic market, but later we will export the brands," he said. |
Meanwhile, Kyndal has lined up premium vodka brand Level, priced at Rs 3,000 a bottle, for launch early next year. It already distributes Swedish vodka brand Absolut in India. Vodka in the Indian market is growing at 30-35 per cent per annum. |
"The vodka market is estimated to be around one million cases. Out of that premium vodka market would be just two per cent," Banerji said. |
Talking about Indian wine, he said three India made wine brands 30 Latt, Flemingo and Trinity have been firmed up for launch by the company next month. Their price would be Rs 450-Rs 550 a bottle. |
Banerji said Indian wine was costlier than imported brands as the cost of production was much higher. |
"Cost of producing Indian wine is much higher. Imported wine brands are available even as low as one dollar," he said. |
