L&T bags orders worth Rs 1,009 crore in March

Company has won orders in the buildings and factories business

Infrastructure conglomerate Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has won new orders worth Rs 1,009 crore across various business segments in March.

"In the buildings and factories business, new design and build orders worth Rs 573 crore have been received," the company said in a statement.

The orders are from a leading real estate company for construction of mixed use development in Lucknow and the construction of a community centre in Bangalore, L&T said, adding that the scope of work involves civil, finishes, mechanical, electrical, among others.

The company has also bagged additional orders from an ongoing project in Hyderabad for the work of transit oriented development, it said, but did not disclose the value and name of its client.
 

In the transportation infrastructure business, L&T has won a new order worth Rs 316 crore from a road developer for design, engineering and construction of an elevated road between Jinzira Bazaar and Batanagar on the Budge Budge trunk road in Kolkata, it said.

The company also bagged Rs 120 crore order from Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd for engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of 33/11 kV sub-stations and associated lines for the Odisha Distribution System Strengthening Project, it said.

The order was awarded to L&T's power transmission and distribution business, it added.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 1,271.90 apiece on the BSE during afternoon trade, down 1.27 per cent from the previous close.
