L&T bags orders worth Rs 2,410 cr

The orders were bagged from leading developers of major residential towers across various cities

Engineering major Larsen & Toubro today said its construction arm has won orders worth Rs 2,410 crore across various businesses during April-June 2012.

"L&T Construction, part of the Laresn & Toubro conglomerate has bagged new orders valued at Rs 2,410 crore ... The Buildings and Factories IC (independent company) has secured new orders worth Rs 1,921 crore," it said in a statement.

The orders were bagged from leading developers for the construction of major residential towers across various cities in the northern part of the country, it added. Besides, the company said, its infrastructure IC has won orders to the tune of Rs 345 crore for the design and construction of viaducts and three elevated stations from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation which also includes additional orders from various ongoing projects.

"In yet another development, the water effluent and treatment business has bagged new orders worth Rs 244 crore from Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board for upgrading the existing water distribution systems including additional orders from various ongoing projects," the statement said.

L&T is a $12.8 billion technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services conglomerate with global operations.
