L&T bags Rs 275cr Delhi Metro contract

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), in association with Shanghai Urban Construction (Group) Corporation, has bagged a Rs 275 crore design and build contract from Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC).

According to an official release issued by L&T to the BSE today, the contract is for construction of 2.4 km of underground twin tunnel starting from the IGI Airport Station to Dwarka Sector-21 in the Airport Metro Express Line of the Phase II of the metro rail project.

L&T is the lead partner in a 51:49 joint venture with Shanghai Urban Construction, a Shanghai-based company.

To be completed in 120 weeks, the project involves construction of 1.6 km of bored twin tunnel by using tunnel boring machines and 0.8 km of tunnel by cut and cover method.
