L&T bags three overseas orders worth Rs 3,900 cr

Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has bagged three overseas orders worth $889 million (about Rs 3,977 crore) from the UAE and Thailand.

All the three orders were bagged by L&T Hydrocarbon's upstream business group, the country's largest engineering and construction conglomerate said in a release here today.

According to L&T, the first order is a $450-million EPCI (engineering, procurement, constructing and installation) contract from ADMA-OPCO (Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and a major producer of oil and gas in the UAE.

The order is for the early production project phase-1 of Nasr & Umm Lulu field development projects and includes installing four wellhead towers and a manifold tower platform, connecting bridges and associated sub-sea pipelines, the company said.

 

The second is a $250-million order from PTTEP International, a subsidiary of PTT Public Co of Thailand for its Zawtika development project, phase-1-A. The project is to be delivered in two years and consists of installation of three wellhead topsides and three underwater jackets besides laying a 21-km 18 inch subsea pipelines.

PTTEP International is state-owned oil and gas major in Thailand, and is one of the largest companies in the Southeast Asian kingdom.

The third order is from Abu Dhabi Gas Industries for its Habshan-Ruwais-Shuweihat gas pipeline project, valued at $189 million. The order involves EPC installation and commissioning of the 123-km pipeline in 24-26 months.

L&T is executing several pipeline projects in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries for clients like ADCO (Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations), Qatar Petroleum and PDO (Petroleum Development Oman), among others.

L&T has in-house engineering, fabrication facilities in three locations, including the GCC region at Sohar, in Oman and its own heavy-lift and pipe-laying vessel, LTS-3000.

Valued at $11.7-billion, L&T is one of the few contractors with full in-house engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation capabilities in the hydrocarbon sector.
