<b>L&amp;T bags two orders worth Rs 1,383 cr</b>

Construction major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) today secured many orders totalling Rs 1,383 crore from both international and domestic markets.

The Electrical and Gulf Projects Operating Company, a part of Larsen and Toubro's (L&T) construction division, has secured orders worth Rs 1,015 crore from Transmission and Distribution Projects in the international and domestic markets. The Electrical and Gulf Projects Operating Company has been expanding in the area of power transmission and distribution projects in both international and domestic markets.

L&T's Metallurgical, Material Handling and Water Operating Company, also a part of L&T's construction division, has bagged orders aggregating Rs 368 crore from various clients.

The company secured orders worth Rs 811 crore from the Gulf market, two from   TRANSCO for constructing 3*132 kilowatts (kV) substations at Al Wathba, Mohd Bin Zayed City including Sudha Port Fujairah. It has also got an order from Oman Electricity & Transmission Company (OETC) for 132/33 kV substation in Quariyat area including installation of overhead lines in the Muscat governorate (region). It received a third order from Oman's  Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) pertaining to carrying out works for water transmission network.

In the domestic market, L&T got three orders valued at Rs 204 crore. It has to construct a 220/66 kV substation in Bengaluru for Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation (KPTCL), 220 kV substation at Dhule and Bhableshwar in Maharashtra for Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL) including conversion of 11 kV overhead lines to underground cabling network in Margao for Goa Electricity Department.

L&T's Water and Effluent Treatment Business Unit has secured an order worth Rs 239 crore from Indian Oil Corporation at Paradip, Orissa. The company has to construct storm water drains, reservoir, lay sea outfall pipeline and lift station with supply of pumping machinery. This order is bagged against competitive bidding with completion time of 12 months.

The company has also got orders totaling Rs 129 crore from other clients as add-on works to ongoing projects of Metallurgical, Material Handling and Water Operating Company.
