L&T Construction secures orders worth Rs 1,500 crore in Aug

Power & transmission business secured new orders worth Rs 1,071 cr

L&T Construction bagged orders worth Rs 1,504 crores across business segments in August 2013, the company said. 
 
Its power and transmission business secured new orders worth Rs 1,071 crore. The major order was received from Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited for supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 400 KV line of 274 kilometers in length, it said in a filing to exchanges. 
 
This business unit received another order from Purvanchal Vidyut Nigam Limited for carrying out rural electrification works on Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyuitkaran Yojana, Phase –II, the company said.
 
L&T’s buildings and factories business bagged additional orders worth Rs 433 crore in various ongoing projects, the company said in its filing.
