After winning its biggest ever global order worth in Saudi Arabia, L&T today announced that it bagged orders worth Rs 4,160 crore in the domestic market.
Last month, it won an order to execute a part of Riyadh metro rail for a whopping Rs 8,250 crore. In today’s order, it has won Rs 974 crore worth orders in the power transmission and distribution areas.
“A major turnkey order has been bagged from Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited for various rural electrification works under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojna (RGGVY) phase -II in Barabanki and Lakhimpur District,” the company said, in a press release.

Some of the other orders include construction of residential towers in Delhi and Chennai.
“The scope includes civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing and finishing works. The business has also secured an order for the construction of a commercial space development in Delhi,” L&T said.
The water treatment business vertical too won orders that account to Rs 735 crore.
“A major order has been received from Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan for regional water supply schemes. The scope includes turnkey construction of water supply network for 256 villages and five towns under the Ratangarh-Sujangarh water supply project,” the construction major said.
The Tuticorin Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu gave L&T an order to build an intake water treatment plant and a water supply system. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation too gave orders to the company to develop radio systems for the project.
The company’s stock went up by 0.7% in today’s trade and was trading at Rs 786 at 11:44 am.
