L&T FY07 consol net up 70% to Rs 2240cr

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has posted a 70% surge in consolidated net profit at Rs 2240.14 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 when compared with Rs 1317.21 crore in FY06.

According to an official release issued by Larsen & Toubro to the BSE today, its total income for FY07 rose 40% to Rs 21342.16 crore from Rs 17018.55 crore for FY06.

On a stand-alone basis, the company's FY07 net profit was up 38% to Rs 1403.02 crore when compared with Rs 1012.14 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006. Total income increased to Rs 18041.13 crore from Rs 15198.63 crore.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2007, the company has posted a 50% rise in net profit at Rs 700.77 crore when compared with Rs 466.85 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago. Total income has increased to Rs 6452.38 crore from Rs 4782.46 crore.

In a separate release to the BSE, the board of the company has recommended a final dividend of Rs 2 per share which together with the interim dividend of Rs 11 per share declared on March 13, 2007, adds up to Rs 13 per share.
