Addressing mediapersons, A M Naik, chairman, L&T, said that the company has chalked out a 10-year growth plan extending from 2005 to 2015 in which Coimbatore will have five units. |
"We already have a switchgear facility in Coimbatore. We will be setting up a valve unit, a rubber unit, a precision component unit among others in the city," he added. |
The other four growth centres are Chennai, Powai in Maharashtra and two locations in Gujarat. |
Larsen & Toubro Demag Plastics Machinery Ltd has set up a new manufacturing facility of plastics machinery at Chembarambakkam in Chennai at an investment of Rs 25 crore. |
The new facility will be equipped with advanced technology for design, manufacture and testing of plastics injection moulding machines. |
The manufacturing capacity is likely to be ramped up to 1,000 machines in the near future from the present 600 machines. |
L & T -Demag, an equal joint venture between L&T and Germany-based Demag Ergotech GmbH (part of Mannesmann Plastics Machinery group) plans to clock a turnover of Rs 125 crore during the current fiscal. |
