L&T wins Rs 980cr order from Tata Steel

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won yet another contract from Tata Steel, order valued at Rs 980 crore, for the supply and installation of Blast Furnance for Tata Steel's project in Kalinganagar, Orissa.

According to a release issued by L&T to the BSE today, the company will supply and install the Blast Furnace as a part of the first phase of Tata Steel's Greenfield project.

"Having a capacity of 3.2 MTPA this blast furnace will have a furnace volume of 4300 cu.m and would be the largest Blast Furnace in Tata Steel and the first of its kind in India. This is scheduled for completion in 40 months", the release added.
