La Calypso Resorts plans to expand its presence across the country in the next couple of years. Situated on the picturesque Baga beach, the resort has already started operations in the Info-tech city, Hyderabad and will soon commence its project in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. |
"We are also planning to expand our flagship in the northern and eastern region by 2010," claims Abhishek Nath, president (operations), La Calypso. |
The three-star resort, which began operations in November 2005, will soon start a 24 hour call centre at their Goa resort to cater the international and domestic tourists. The centre will offer of services like room reservations, conference hall, party bookings and catering. Said Abhishek, "We plan to create a niche for our resort in the hospitality sector across the country." |
"We are establishing the sales footprints across the global, as India, particularly Goa, has become the most favourite destination in the world for the international tourists," Abhishek said. |
India has the potential to emerge a huge industry globally, with demand for more than 1 lakh rooms by 2010. Charter tourist traffic too has increased steadily over the past few years. Nath pointed out to the domestic tourism which is growing steadily at around 15 per cent. |
La Calypso's Goa facility is spread across over 25,000 sq mt and has 46 rooms. Besides, it also has 10 American-style villas along side the beach. |
