Lanco to set up solar cell plant in Chhattisgarh

Company has already invested Rs 1,200 cr in integrated solar photo voltaic project in the state

Lanco Infratech Limited today announced its subsidiary Lanco Solar Private Limited has signed an MoU with Chattishgarh to set up a 100-mw solar cell manufacturing unit in the state.

The company has already invested Rs 1,200 crore in integrated solar photo voltaic (PV) project, restarted in July this year. The project is being set up at a 250-acre SEZ in Rajnandgaon in Chattisgarh.

"We are elated to be part of the MoU as this will be a showcase project being the first poly-silicon, ingots and wafers manufacturing facility coming up in India. At the same time it plays anchor industry role to attract investment's in other solar PV manufacturing units within this plug and play SEZ," said L Madhusudhan Rao, executive chairman of Lanco Infratech.
