Turin-based, Lavazza, known for Italy’s coffee, has appointed Omar Nasrollah as Director for its Business Unit in Asia. This follows Lavazza’s intent to strengthen its operations in the sub-continent which includes the Fresh & Honest Café Limited and Barista Lavazza.

Nasrollah, who was appointed last month to the role of Business Unit Asia Director for Lavazza with responsibility for the Indian market, is going to manage the implementation of the forthcoming stages of strategy. Nasrollah has occupied many strategic roles in Lavazza in the sales sector, developing an in-depth knowledge of the business, particularly in the Europe. Having joined Lavazza over a decade ago, Nasrollah has led Business Development teams and been responsible for businesses in Africa, Middle East and Europe.

Changes in the market have required that commercial penetration methods be revised, based on which Lavazza has decided to concentrate its resources in terms of business in certain selected geographical areas of India. According to this plan, Lavazza will focus increasingly on the coffee market through a competent, grass-roots approach, and with increasing awareness. The company also intends to increase and implement AFH business through the Ho.Re.Ca and vending channels, as well as to seek a partner to manage the Barista coffee shop business.
