Leyland November sales down by 3.2%

Ashok Leyland's sales in November 2005 declined when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The company's vehicle sales in November, in relation to October 2005, also declined.
 
Leyland sold 4,213 vehicles (4,349 vehicles) in November 2005, down by 3.12 per cent, compared to the sales in the corresponding period of the previous year. The sales in October 2005 stood at 4,281 units, marginally higher than November.
 
In its mainstay - medium and heavy commercial vehicles - Leyland's sales in November 2005 stood at 2,529 units (3,152 units), lower by 19.76 per cent in relation to the previous year.
 
However, in the medium and heavy passenger vehicle segment, Leyland's performance in November 2005 witnessed an improvement. The sales in November 2005 stood at 1,408 units (917 units), higher by 54 per cent in relation to the previous year.
 
For the first eight months of the current fiscal (April-November), Leyland recorded an aggregate sale of 36,709 units (31,285 units), higher by 17.3 per cent in relation to the previous year.
