Leyland to launch ALTRUX in more states

Terming its pre-owned truck business - ALTRUX - a thumping success, heavy vehicle maker Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, is planning to extend it across the country.

The pre-owned truck business, wherein used Ashok Leyland vehicles would be purchased from the market, re-conditioned and sold by the company with a six-month guarantee, has been a thumping success in Rajasthan, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, V M Homabli, special director, customer support group, Ashok Leyland, told PTI here yesterday.

Quoting a survey, he said the market for used trucks was estimated at 77,000 vehicles per annum, and sounded confident that the company would achieve 15% market share over the next three years.

The company was planning to launch ALTRUX in Karnataka by January-February, and Andhra Pradesh and others would follow soon.
