Korean consumer durables major LG today launched 23 models of its 'Direct Cool' series refrigerators in India and said it aims a turnover of Rs 3,000 crore from the segment by the 2010-end.
"We are targeting a growth percentage of more than 50 per cent this year to achieve a total turnover of Rs 3,000 crore in the refrigerator segment. The new series has been designed keeping in mind the consumer’s choice," LG Electronics India Chief Operating Officer Y V Verma said in a statement.
In 2009, the company had a turnover of around Rs 2,000 crore from the refrigerators business.
The new Direct Cool series is in the capacity segments of 215 litre to 270 litre and comes at a price range of Rs 11,500-15,500.
"The new range is an outcome of LG's endeavour to offer products based on extensive research, changing consumer preferences and evolving demand," it said.
The Rs 13,000 crore LG Electronics India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of South Korea-based LG Electronics.
