"The company has achieved a landmark turnover of Rs 2,100 crores during the festive season this year. Diwali marked a boom in the sales of every LG product category especially in the colour television category. LG surpassed sales of 4.75 lakh colour televisions during the festive season thus recording the highest sales by LGEIL in this category. We are now expecting to close with a sales of Rs. 8,000 crore by this fiscal end. Earlier the target was to cross sales of Rs 9,000 crore but due to the tsunami mishap we have to impose limitations on the target," said Girish Rao, vice-president, sales. | |
"We are ready with a second manufaturing facility at our Ranjangaon plant and are planning to produce almost all electronic equipments from this new facility. Currently we are manufaturing five lakh sets of colour television per month out of the existing facility at Ranjangaon. Now the initial production capacity for colour televisions out of this new factory would be about one millions sets. We are expecting to start production at the new plant during first quarter of 2006,'' he added. | |
He said for the upcoming Christmas and New Year festivals LG is coming up with special offers for it's various products. The special schemes will be initially introduced in Goa, Tamilnadu and Banglore. | |
