LG Electronics has set a sales target of Rs 129 crore for the Surat branch for 2004. |
To strengthen its hi-end product portfolio in Gujarat, LG Electronics on Thursday launched its colour television Ballad, a new range of GSM mobile phones and Whisen range of air-conditioners in Surat. |
K R Kim, managing director, LG India, said, "Surat is a big market with a huge potential. We believe that in the times to come, with our proper focus, Surat will emerge as one of the branches with more sales than any other branch in the country." |
"We are constantly striving towards developing the market with innovative and high-end products. With the launch of GSM mobiles and Ballad, we have entered into a new segment and are confident that LG will continue to retain its leadership position," Kim said. |

"We already have a branch in Surat, which performed very well with a turnover of Rs 76 crore in 2003. We have set a target of Rs 129 crore for the Surat branch for 2004. It is to realise the full potential of this market and to serve customers better that we have opened a new branch in the city," Ashar said. |

LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of LG Electronics, South Korea, was established in India in January 1997. The company had a turnover of Rs 4,500 crore in 2003 and aims to increase it to Rs 7,000 crore in the current year. |
The company also aims to achieve leadership position in the GSM mobile phone market, which it entered in late 2003. |
