LG Electronics, part of the $81 billion LG group, will launch its latest home networking products in India shortly.
LG officials said, the latest from the home networking stable, the internet microwave oven, will make its way to India in April. The product is likely to be priced at Rs 24,000. The same product is expected to be priced at Rs 45,000 in Korea. LG officials explained that the difference is largely due to the volatility and price sensitivity of the Indian market. A normal microwave oven of the same capacity is priced at around Rs 14,000.
LG officials said the research conducted by the company revealed that housewives and working women who surf the Net at least twice a week are willing to pay 60 per cent of the premium for the new technology and 40 per cent for the additional benefits that come with the new product.
